JEFFREY SCOTT JOSLIN II

Singer. Songwriter. Musician. Artist.

The summer of 2017 was a transformative time for Jeffrey Scott Joslin II. In the midst of what he thought was a creative upswing in his life (though not including any restful sleep) it unfortunately morphed into his worst nightmare. Jeffrey found himself suddenly on the inside of a psychiatric hospital being told he was delusional, hallucinating and then eventually came to learn he had lifelong overlooked bipolar tendencies.

Like other inspired and talented musicians (Mozart, Beethoven, George Gershwin, Brian Wilson, Ray Davies of The Kinks and Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd) Jeffrey knew he would have to come to terms with his mental condition and make it work for his art rather than against it.

Being a musician who is bipolar allows Jeffrey to open himself to the myriad talents and creativity he possesses. The bipolar mind is  considerably ambidextrous and can maintain an astonishing array of gifts that coalesce into cohesive art forms.

Not only does Jeffrey play guitar, bass, drums and keyboard on his Americana driven songs; Jeffrey also produces, records and mixes his albums as well as composes, writes the lyrics and develops and executes the art direction.

After three solid releases billed as Jef Joslin: For Your Eyes Only, Come Out West and 30; Jeffrey is back in the studio (The Skipper Room) to record his concept album, Found at Sea.

Jeffrey is a seasoned live performer and can be found regularly playing in and around LA venues like The Hotel Café, Residuals and Saint Rocke.

At his heart Jeffrey is a born activist and donates his time and effort to many worthy causes like recently donating the song “Stronger” to the Susan G. Komen Foundation through Songfinch’s fundraising compilation.

In 2016 Jeffrey composed the soundtrack for the award-winning suicide prevention feature film The Last Train which starred Hollywood good guy Lou Diamond Phillips.

Jeffrey also performed at The Homeboy Industries fundraiser for an audience of 1,500 elite donors in LA and his music was a highlight at an event for The Children’s Defense Fund spearheaded by host Conan O’Brien and director JJ Abrams.

Currently Jeffrey’s planning a month long release of jazzy, modern interpretations of holiday standards as well as further building The Skipper Room into a dream music box with his brother, fellow musician and studio owner Justice Joslin.

A proud husband to actress and filmmaker Ciera Danielle; Jeffrey is father to Feather Rose (who is immortalized in the song of the same name) and enjoys spending time with his family and friends at home in Redondo Beach.

The easygoing beach lifestyle helps Jeffrey keep his balance in mind, body and spirit and inspired “California Gold”, his new single scheduled for release in early 2018.
